After the postponements because of snow of the Week 12 League matches, re-scheduled for Saturday 10 March, on a mild if slightly windy Saturday morning in Wansworth Common the DFA-IFLeague Week 13 matches took place. On pitch 2, last years champions France, put up a very good performance against Poland and with the help of an hat-trick from Luc Fasoro they ended up with an impressive 4-1 win, ending Polish hopes to win the Championship. That result meant that if Lusitania Brazil managed a win against Japan, match played opn pitch 4, they would be crowned 2011-2012 League champions with two round of matches still left to play. Lusitania Brazil started impressively scoring an early goal, however, with their forwards very wasteful it was Japan on a quick counter attack who equalised after 25 minutes. The goal gave the Japanese the confidence they seemed to need and for the rest of the first half the contest became more even. Lusitania Brazil started the second half as they had done the first and after 60', their galloping right back, Diego Bitencourt, got his reward, scoring what turned out to be the Championship goal and finally managing to beat the always impressive Japan team player-manager in goal. The goal proved sufficient for Lusitania Brazil to be crowned 2011-2012 DFA-IFLeague champions and celebrated by all those present at the match. On pitch 1, Spain, on a great run of results and missing their top goalscorer, managed to beat the always difficult Irish team by a 2-0 score . On Pitch 3 Panama ended a sequence of bad results by beating Wales 5-2, with a brace from their captain Sam Carleton.

Congratulations to Lusitania Brazil for winning the Championship!
